The GOLDEN SUN RUN is the kickoff event for the 42th annual Sacramento Filipino Fiesta weekend, a fun family event celebrating their rich culture and heritage. 

The Golden Sun Run  brings you:

• 4D's --- Daddy, Daughter, Doggie, Dash (Its a family fun run), let get all Lola's, Lolo's, Auntie, Uncles, Son's, Daughters, the whole family out to run together. Show your spirit and build your team. A family who runs together stays together. 
• Luzon 5K
• Bata 5K
• Visayan 2.5K
• The Ultimate Mindanao Mile

Join one or join them all! 

This great scenic course starts at the Jose P. Rizal Community Center, (dedicated after  Jose P. Rizal an ophthalmologist by profession, and after became a writer he was a key member of the Filipino movement which advocated political reforms. He is widely considered one of the greatest heroes of the Philippines and which eventurally lewd to Philippines Independence.)  

The course winds through the beautiful Woody Hampton Park, finds it was into the Gorgeous Sheldon Park and then makes it’s way down the Florin Creek Trail before returning to Jose Rizal Center.

The GOLDEN SUN RUN is ideal for the whole family to watch, to cheer and to show your Filipino spirit.  Confined to the local beautiful parks the course is ultimatly family friendly, anyone of any age can accomplish this fun and exciting course. 

First place overall male and female in the GOLDEN SUN RUN 5k, 2.5K and 1 mile willl receive Overall Champion Awards.  There will be awards three deep in each ten-year age group.

And dont worry everyone will receive GOLDEN SUN RUN souvenir finisher metals.

Race packets will be available race morning for 6:30am to 8am at the race site.
